1994 Frozen Souls CD

INNER SANCTUM wurde 1989 gegründet vom Gitarristen Heber Wallenrod Hammer, der vorher in der Band MELKOR MORGOT war (die einen Song über den Nazi Mengele machten). Er suchte eine ganze Weile nach einem Basser und gleichzeitig Sänger, ehe er 1990 Pablo van Lagat fand, der von der Band ANGKOR VAT kam (und sich zu der Zeit noch Pablo Labraga nannte). Sie haben 1990 auch noch einen zweiten Gitarristen Namens Andres Sant, der aber nach einem Konzert wieder gehen muss, da sie lieber als Trio, wie ihre Vorbilder weitermachen wollen! Der Drummer wechselte am Anfang öfter. Sie nehmen ein 4 Track Demo im CELTIC FROST / VENOM Stil auf, welches ihnen im Untergrund einige Bekanntheit bringt. In Chile wird der Chef des Labels "Toxic" auf sie aufmerksam, und holt sie für Live Konzerte rüber (zusammen mit SARCOFAGO / Brasilien).
Zu der Zeit spielt bei ihnen der MELKOR MORGOTH drummer Andy Viglioni, der aber vom Label Boss rausgedrängelt wird, und Alvaro Garcia steigt ein, der vorher auch in ANGKOR VAT war. In Chile nehmen sie Ende 1993 auch ihr Album auf (diese CD Version ist sehr selten). Die weibliche Stimme ist von der Band ARACHENA (von Chile?). Das Label BMG bringt etwas später das Album mit anderem Cover in Uruguay heraus. "Frozen Souls" erhält weltweit gute Reviews, und schlägt bei Liebhabern des harten, doomigen, morbiden Sounds von CELTIC FROST ziemlich ein! Nach den Aufnahmen verlässt Heber 1994 die Band, nach den Querelen wegen des Drummers, und wegen Problemen über Copyrights und anderen Sachen! In der original chilenischen Edition hat Heber z.B. die vollen Credits, die in der uruguayischen Ausgabe "verschwunden" und umgeändert sind! Alvaro hat noch ein Nebenprojekt FAKIN BIRRA (die wie ihr Name "Scheiss Bier" schon sagt total schlecht und Verarsche war). Die Band spielt dann 1994 auch in Argentinien mit LETHAL und ATTAQUE 77 und in Chile mit CRIMINAL, und 1995 spielen sie mit DORSAL ATLANTICA in Montevideo. 1996 steigt auch Pablo aus (und gründet SENDA NEGRA), und der Sänger Jose Romero von REQUIUM AETERNAL steigt ein. 1997 spielen sie zusammen mit den Argentiniern MALON, aber dann löst sich die Band endgültig auf. Die Band hatte einen guten Namen in Lateinamerika, und hätte sicher noch grösser werden können! Sie waren insgesamt 5 Mal in Chile und 7 Mal in Argentinien.
Heber macht für kurze Zeit mit der Band STRATUS weiter (die ein gutes Demo hatten), und gründet später LEGEND! Alvaro geht nach Spanien und ist mit SKUNK D.F. ziemlich erfolgreich, und Andres, der kurzzeitige zweite Gitarrist gründet SATRAPA und geht später nach Argentinien.
Nun 2005 kommt eine unglaubliche Nachricht!! Heber hat die Band neue gegründet, und Sänger ist Mario Ian aus Argentinien (ex HELLION; ALAKRAN; RATA BLANCA und nun DEVENIR)!! Schon Anfang 2006 soll es ein neues Album geben. Keine Ahnung wie der Stil sein wird!

INNER SANCTUM was founded in 1989 by Heber Wallenrod Hammer, who played before in the band MELKOR MORGOT (they made one song about the Nazi Mengele). He looked for a while for a bass player and singer till he found in 1990 Pablo van Lagat, who played before in the band ANGKOR VAT (called Pablo Labraga at this time). In 1990 they had also for a while a second guitar player called Andres Sant, who had to leave the band after one concert as they liked it more to be a trio like their idols! The drummer changed several times in the beginning. They recorded a 4 track demo in CELTIC FROST / VENOM style which brought them some good recognition in the underground! In Chile the boss of the label "Toxic" became interested in the band, and organized some live gigs for them in Santiago (together with SARCOFAGO / Brazil). At this time played also MELKOR MORGOTH drummer Andy Viglioni, but he was forced out of the band by the label boss, and Alvaro Garcia joined who was before also in ANGKOR VAT. They recorded their album end of 1993 in Chile, "Toxic records" (this CD version is very rare). The female background voice is from the band ARACHENA (from Chile?). The label BMG released the album later with different cover in Uruguay. "Frozen Souls" received world wide good reviews, and struck fans of the heavy, doomy, and morbid sound of CELTIC FROST! After the recordings Heber left the band in 1994, because of the quarrel about the drummer, and because of problems about copy rights and others things (Heber had the credits for the songs in the original Chilean edition, and those "disappeared" and were exchanged in the Uruguay edition)! Alvaro had in the same time the side project FAKIN BIRRA which was a total gag thing (like "fucking beer")! The band played in 1994 in Argentina with LETHAL and ATTAQUE 77 and in Chile with CRIMINAL and in 1995 they played with DORSAL ATLANTICA in Montevideo. In 1996 Pablo was leaving (and founded SENDA NEGRA), and the singer Jose Romero from REQUIUM AETERNAL joined. In 1997 they played together with the Argentinians MALON, but after this the band split completely! They had a good name in Latin America, and could have made it much bigger! They played 5 times in Chile and 7 times in Argentina. Heber founded for short time STARTUS (which made one good demo) and later LEGEND, Alvaro Garcia went later to Spain and is very successful with SKUNK D.F., and Andres (the short time second guitarist) founded SATRAPA and went later to Argentina.
The year 2005 brought unbelievable news!! Heber founded the band again!! Singer is Mario Ian from Argentina (ex HELLION; ALAKRAN; RATA BLANCA and now DEVENIR)!! A new CD is recorded now and will be released beginning of 2006. I have no idea how they will sound today, so wait for the surprise!
