1994 The Ancient Blood LP / CD

Diese Band, die wohl aus der Gegend von Sao Paulo kam, ist eines der seltsamsten Gewächse in der weltweiten Metal Szene! Es ist wirklich unglaublich, was diese Leute um Sängerin Ivanna alles zusammengemixt haben! "Folklore Metal" drückt die Vielzahl von Einflüssen schlecht aus. Am auffälligsten ist aber auf jeden Fall der gelegentliche Einsatz von Panflöte und anderer indianischer Instrumente. Sie spielen dazu Musik von Hard Rock bis Thrash!
Die Band wurde 1989 unter dem Namen BODAS DE SANGUE gegründet, und hatte einige Wechsel, ehe sie 1992 ein festes Line up hatten, mit dem die LP aufgenommen wurde. Sie machten auch kein Demo auf, sondern nahmen direkt das Album auf. Sie spielten auf dem "Rock in Rio 3" Festival und ansonsten nur in der Umgebung von Sao Paulo, und nicht mit bekannteren Bands. Dafür traten sie aber mehrmals im Fernsehen auf. Durch ihren ungewöhnlichen Stil hatten sie nicht viele Verkäufe und keine Unterstützung der Plattenfirma, so löste sich die Band 1995 auf! Sängerin Ivana Fabiani kam aus San Juan in Argentinien und arbeitet heute im TV. Basser Alex Vydala und Drummer Mario Fabre waren aus Sao Paulo. Alex hat heute eine Internetfirma (www.orbitalnetworks.com.br), und Mario spielt weiter bei dem bekannten brasilianischen Blues Rocker André Cristóvao und macht ein Drumm Video. Aus Santiago de Chile kamen der Gitarrist Oscar Gozález und der für die folkloristischen Instrumente zuständige Enzo Merino (Zampoñas und Toyos Flöten und Charango Gitarren). Enzo spielte vorher bei der bekannten chilenischen Band RAICES DE AMERICA. Oscar hat heute ein Studio.
Die LP ist heute schwer zu finden, und auch die CD selten!

This band plays one of the strangest styles in the whole Metal world. It is really amazing what kind of music the guys and the girl (singer Ivanna) mix together. The name "Folk Metal" fits not really to it. But the use of the pan flute and other Indian instruments is one of the most obvious differences here. But they use much more musical influences, from Hard Rock, Metal, Doom till Thrash!
The band was founded in 1989 under the name BODAS DE SANGUE, and had some changes, till ine 1992 a steady line up recorded the album. They did not make any demo and started right with the recording of the album. The played at the "Rock in Rio 3" festival and all the othere time in hte area of Sao Paulo, and not with more known bands. But they appeard several times in TV! Through teir unusual style and the hard time for Rock music anyway, they did not sell too much, and didn`t get much support from the record company. So in 1995 the band split! Singer Ivana Fabiani was from San Juan in Argentinien and works today for a TV company. Bass player Alex Vydala and Drummer Mario Fabre were from Sao Paulo. Alex has today an internet company (www.orbitalnetworks.com.br), and Mario plays today with the known brazilian Blues Rocker André Cristóvao and makes a drumm video. Esta banda toca um dos estilos mais diferentes de todo mundo metálico. É realmente fantástico o tipo de música que estes caras e a vocalista Ivanna misturam. O nome "Folk Metal" não se encaixa muito bem, mas o uso de flautas pan e outros instrumentos indígenas é um dos diferenciais mais óbvios aqui. No entanto, eles te, muitas outras influências musicais do hard Rock, Metal, Doom e até Thrash! A banda surgiu em 1989 com o nome BODAS DE SANGUE e teve algumas mudanças até que em 1992 a formação se estabilizou e gravaram o álbum. Não fizeram nenhuma demo e foram direto para a gravação do álbum. Eles tocaram no Rock in Rio 3 e em São Paulo, mas com bandas não muito conhecidas. No entanto, apareceram diversas vezes na TV. Pelo estilo diferente e pelos momentos difíceis que o próprio Rock atravessa, eles não venderam muito e não conseguiram muito apoio da gravadora. Então em 1995 a banda se separou. A vocalista Ivanna é de San Juan, Argentina e trabalha hoje em dia em uma cia. de TV. O baixista Alex Vydala e o baterista Mario Fabre são de São Paulo. Alex tem uma empresa de internet (www.orbitalnetworks.com.br) e Mário toca com o conhecido bluseiro André Christovam e faz um vídeo de bateria. O guitarrista Oscar González e o responsável pelos intrumentos folclóricos (Zampoñas, Flautas Toyos e violas Charango), Enzo Merino, são de Santiago, Chile. Enzo tocava antes no conhecido grupo chileno RAICES DE AMERICA. Oscar tem hoje um estúdio de gravação. O LP e o CD não é muito fácil de encontrar.
