Overdose, old Fan Club 1985 They came from Belo Horizonte and stood always in the shadow of the other famous band from their home town. But they had the same chances in the beginning, as they released their first album together as a split LP. At this time they were even better than SEPULTURA and delivered really good rough Thrash. Old Metal fans from this time tell the tale, that the fans of each band were scratching and destroying the side of the record of the other band. But SEPULTURA were smarter and had a straight line in their releases and became better with each record. OVERDOSE, instead, made the most crazy changes in style, which in spite of many released albums, stopped any progress. But it did not look bad for them at the beginning. First their "Seculo XX" album got released again as a full LP with 5 tracks more. The next album was really good Power Metal and they even could release one song on the US label "Metal Blade" at their cult compilation "Metal Massacre" No. 9 one year later.
Overdose 1997 Another year later things changed to the bad. They hired the keyboard player Fabio Ribeira and made with "You are really big" a Hard Rock album!! With the next album they changed (of course without keyboarder) to thrashing Power Metal. And with "Circus of Death" with a second guitar player it changed to pure Thrash Metal. After 1992 they "develop" to groovy 90s modern sound, really horrible stuff. In 1997 they made another album in the trend of the time. If they still exist, or if somebody gave them already the "final blow" (as they tortured themselves so long through the Metal scene) I don't know. Friends gave me some relly cool pictures of the band from the very beginning, which I show in the following photo gallery! So you guys, who call yourself now OVERDOSE, look at this pictures, and listen to the old records, ...THIS WAS METAL, ...and not this shit what you are doing now!
